Savoury French Toast
Doorstopper bread (Allow about 1 egg per 1-2 slices)
4 large eggs
1/2 cup grated cheese
1 clove garlic, crushed
Tbsp fresh snipped chives
1/2 cup milk
Salt and pepper
Whisk eggs and milk together in a bowl. Add chives, garlic, cheese and season to taste. Dip slices of bread one at a time into egg mixture ensuring that bread is soaked.
Fry the bread in a non stick fry pan with a little butter until golden on both sides. Spoon a little of the cheese out of the egg mixture and spread onto the bread before flipping.
Serve on its own or with hot grilled tomatoes and crispy bacon.
