Krispie Kritters
1 cup white sugar
1 cup white corn syrup (Karo Syrup)
1 cup creamy peanut butter
6 cups *Kellogs Rice Krispies* cereal
“optional”- can of pre-packaged chocolate frosting
Place the 6 cups of Rice Krispies in the large mixing bowl and set aside.
In a 2 qt sauce pan heat the sugar and corn syrup until it begins to boil. Remove from heat and add peanut butter. Whip together until creamy, pour immediately over Rice Krispies and blend well.
Pour mixture into 9×13 buttered cake pan. Butter hands and spread mixture evenly into pan (buttered hands keeps mixture from sticking to your hands and prevents burning from the hot mixture).
Let cool and cut into squares; or you may frost with the chocolate frosting first.
Caution: these are highly addictive, and you may never make “Rice Krispie Treats” the old way ever again. My “children” are now 33, 31 and 27 and they still request these treats!
