French Toast (or Egg Bread)
4 slices thick bread
3 eggs
good handful grated tasty cheese
1/4 cup milk
salt and pepper
chopped fresh chives and parsley or other herbs of your choice (optional)
salt and pepper
Beat the eggs with a fork and add remaining ingredients. Dip each piece of bread into the mix and ensure it is reasonably soaked, being careful not to break it. Put each slice straight into a buttered fry pan, and scoop a bit of the cheese out of the egg mix and put it onto each slice of bread. Fry until golden on both sides.
