Apple Shortcake
1/2 lb. SR flour
1/4 lb butter
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp water
1 egg
Stewed apple
Mix butter and sugar together, add egg then water, lastly add flour. Roll thin. Spread one half with cold strained stewed apple then put other half of cake on top, and bake in flat tray moderately (180c) for 25-35 min or Until it is a nice brown all over. Ice with lemon icing, then sprinkle with cinnamon
